Broodmare Thalassa (Stature - Irish Mail) from the famous Canowindra Honan property is due to foal any day to former racetrack star, For A Reason.

While Thalassa was only a one-racewinning mare, she has proved her worth in the breeding barn, with previous handy foals including the multiple Menangle winner, Double Event.

For A Reason was a superstar for the respected McCarthy clan, winning 27 races, 17 placings from 64 starts, for $1.1 million in stakes.

Some of his greatest wins that come to mind are in the 2013 Victoria Cup (group one) worth $400,000 and the 2014 Queensland Pacing Championship (of $200,000) where he stopped the clock in 1:56.4 for the marathon journey of 2680 metres.

Another recent arrival to St Fort is Oaks-winning mare, For Dear Life.

For Dear Life was the winner of 14 races including the 2009 NSW Oaks (Group One) of $100,000, as well as the APG 3yo Fillies Final ($100,000) in the same year.

As a two-year-old, she had been runner-up in the 2yo Gold Fillies Final ($300,000).
